Interview in Biogas Channel - Agricultural waste in Greece: a qualitative and quantitative analysis from the University of Patras

Greece, a predominantly agricultural country, generates three main categories of agricultural waste suitable for the production of biogas: crop residues, animal waste and agro-industrial waste.

Considering the quantity of waste available, all these biomasses could potentially produce an enormous amount of green energy, satisfying the country’s electricity needs. For this very reason, the University of Patras has evaluated the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of all agricultural waste produced in Greece.
